Pathways – Multi-Medium Works by Matt Swift – Solo Show

Fresh A.I.R. Gallery cordially invites you to Pathwaysan exhibition featuring the multi-medium works of Columbus artist Matt Swift. Please join us for the opening reception on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pathways will be on view at Fresh A.I.R. Gallery from July 10 to August 23, 2019. Matt will also give an artist talk and live artwork demonstration at the gallery on Monday, August 5 at 3 p.m.
Matt works in several mediums including video, installation, and painting. Pathways brings together two bodies of work that he has been exploring since just prior to and after a traumatic scooter accident in 2017. The work centers on the artist’s journey as recovery process.
Matt is the Program Coordinator for Film Studies at The Ohio State University and is a local arts organizer, educator, and curator who over the years has participated in organizations such as VSA Ohio, the Ohio Arts Council, and The Columbus Art Fest. His partner joins him as co-founder of a local film festival, the Columbus Moving Image Art Review, which received Media Arts Fellowships from The Greater Columbus Arts Council in 2014.

A.I.R. stands for Artists In Recovery. Fresh A.I.R. Gallery exhibits the work of artists affected by mental illness and/or substance use disorders. Through art, we educate the community and work to break down stigma. Fresh A.I.R. Gallery is a project of Southeast Healthcare, a comprehensive provider of mental health, chemical dependency, physical healthcare, and homeless services that has been serving Columbus since 1978 and has expanded to eight surrounding counties.
