On Thursday Feb 20th, I was able to give a 90 minute discussion about my recent video landscape series City Lights and Rural Colors. Highlighting inspiration from filmmakers such as my wife Nicolette Swift,as well as Tony Conrad, Michael Snow and many others, a discussion of the work lead to larger questions about the state of experimental cinema and the juggling act of audience engagement, critical meaning making, and cinematic experimentation that artist in this medium must face.
